So, I bought a front axle to convert my 2wd to 4wd, and I still need the engine crossmember, spring/shackle hangers and the steering parts. But, I started thinking.... If I were to fab coil spring buckets onto my axle, I could use my 2wd crossmember and coil springs, or get taller springs, and fab some 4 link bars onto it. What do you guys think about this idea? It works in my head.

Anything can be done, its just a matter of time and money. I think it would be harder to use the 2wd crossmember, than to fab up the mounts and links for the axle. But its probably easier to just use the leafs.

Are you talking about using a 2WD crossmember with a solid axle? The answer would be no.
