So you have a pcv valve in one valve cover connected to the front port on your carburetor right? And there is vacuum there? The other side has the breather in it and is there a baffle in the valve cover?

Is there a baffle in the valve cover? Are you sure the PCV valve is working?

what kind of vc's do you have? Make sure the PCV valve is good, replace the breather and run a set of V/C's with a baffle. To see if you have excessive crankcase pressure pop the oil dipstick out while it's running and put your finger over the dipstick tube. See if there's pressure there.

can you see the rocker arms through the hole the edelbrock breather is in?  if you can there's nothing you can do to stop oil from coming out, except get a baffle or new valve covers with baffles.  the baffle stops the oil from squrting through the hole.  driving around the yard= lower oil psi from low engine speed, and on the road= higher oil psi from higher the engine speed, and it squirts out farther from the pushrods.
