Okay guys I need some help with knowing what’s compatible, I have a th400 4wd trans bolted up to a np203 and I want to swap in a np205 but the adapters are big $$ from what I hear. So I found a th400/np205 adapter for a good price and it looks more like a th350 adapter. Will this still work for a 400? Also would like to upgrade to a 4l80e in the future and I hear that same adapter is what I need. I will try to post a pic but it never cooperates for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk May 19, 2022, 05:22:50 PM by Fastduramax
Views: 147 | Comments: 4 So, I'm dropping a 572 AFR head BBC in my 86 4X4 shorty and having a real hard time finding headers, has anyone gotten into this project and have any suggestions? May 18, 2022, 04:40:41 PM by zieg85
Views: 263 | Comments: 12 A friend of mine has an original 116K mile 1981 Chevy C10 with a 5.0L and 700R4. Reverse went out. Would it better to order one versus having this one rebuilt? I have heard the earlier 700R4 needed internal upgrades. Would a transmission shop automatically know this being older 41 year old stuff? Please advise May 16, 2022, 07:27:35 PM by Chris350 | Views: 72 | Comments: 0
Hey everybody, First time caller, long time listener. I have recently purchased a 1986 C10, LE9 305 with dual fuel tanks. My original 86 had dual tanks and I loved it. The fuel tank selector valve has let go (dumping fuel out of the seam) luckily parked in my driveway. Does anybody have experience with the Autozone fvs2k valve (I know it’s 6 port as mine has returns) with the wiring. Does the factory plug work (it appears to fit) or does the plug in the kit truly have to be wired in due to a difference in terminals? Thanks in advance! So I acquired this 1975 K20 free (free things always end up costing the most). It's turned into a project to mess with when I don't have any meaningful projects that have to get done. When I acquired it the previous - previous owner had started a 52" front spring swap with a heavy duty Dana 44 he got from a friend. It was a disaster. He claimed matching gears front and rear of which neither were what he said they were and they were both different. I ended up buying an inexpensive 10-bolt front axle with 4:10's (to match the rear) but unfortunately what was supposed to be an open front diff was welded which I didn't want. So dropped in an ebay limited slip and new gears and have the axle installed. Engine started after sitting for I'm guessing around 4 years. Pretty rough but enough to move it over to my side of the work shed. Engine now barely runs so I'll just pull it when I have time and do a refresh. I'm actually guessing the gas is bad but there are so many obvious items needing attention I might as well pull it. That's where it sits now and who knows when I free up to dive into it further. I'll post up whenever there is anything worth posting. Lots of nice projects on this site! Pages: [1]
