1985 C10 power lock not working on drivers side
« on: May 29, 2023, 12:43:25 PM »
First time posting. My 85 C10 has always had the issue of power locks not working on driver side. However, the switch on the driver side will lock and unlock the passenger side. The passenger side only operates passenger side. I replaced the actuator on driver side and no luck. My suspicion is broken wire going into the cab through the rubber sleeve?

Welcome to the Forum!

Power Locks

Use the diagrams linked above along with a test light to determine whether power reaches the left door lock actuator motor from the driver's side switch as the switch is deflected up and down.  The tan and gray wires in the two-wire connector attached to the actuator motor should alternately receive 12 volts depending on whether the switch is deflected toward lock or unlock.  Post your results.
