I doubt an EFI engine will like a lumpy camshaft.....you will need a cam that will work with the ECU to make it Happy. Typically, lumpy cams produce lower engine vacuum and more cam overlap which means a bad A/F ratio for O2 sensor. I would build a 383 and keep motor basically stock with bolt ons. You want torque for pulling or for drag racing?

I concur. A 383 Stroker will give you more bang for the buck.  Stroke that 350 out with a 400 crank shaft, balancer and flywheel.

here's a gm crate 383 ho

You can pickup rotating assemblies pretty cheap anymore to build a 383 out of a 350. That is what I plan on doing for my 91 down the road here.

Choppy camshaft and EFI is a bad combination......EFI can not handle low vacuum cams at all, even with a chip.
