1979 Chevrolet K-10

Okay, my new truck will be here on friday.  It runs and drives and has no rust or dents.  It was located 100 miles north of Pittsburgh, PA.  It had an engine put in it two years ago.  The truck has nerf bars, a billet grille, fender flares, and a sun visor.  Now, for the parts that I have to fix.  It needs a new exhaust.  I plan on using the flowtech super street dual kit with either terminator, afterburner, or thrush glasspack mufflers.  For headers I plan to use either my Heddman's or buy a set of flowtech afterburner headers.  The truck also needs brakes, which it will get hopefully this weekend.  Also, the interior needs finished.  I wil show the pics I have.

that's a good looking truck you got there. it would look a whole lot better if you take that sun visor off and the mudflaps, it would look mean.

The visor will be staying on for now, but the mudflaps will be coming off first thing.  I am also going to install a 4" lift kit and a set of Super Sport H/T 35"'s.

Well, just got a call from my dad who is bringing the truck home for me.  They are ahead of schedule and the truck will be getting home tomorrow.  I found out that the truck is actually a 1978 Silverado K-10.  It has been painted recently.  The carb is a Quadrajet manual choke.  It is a single tank truck.  The tailgate was replaced with a GMC original, not a chevy, but oh well.  The truck has a 4 inch lift kit and 33/9.50/15LT tires.  The nerf bars are rusted out on the bottoms.  It seems to be running alright he said, but he said it does need a tune-up.  The bumpers are new.  I do need to replace the front springs, they are sagging.

ah well doesn't sound like it needs a whole lot of work. i wish i had as many of these trucks as you have. i never have any money. but yeah it looks like the truck has a new paint and a nice color too. good luck with it. keep us posted on the progress.

This one, other than my former truck, the 76, is the only one that has been worth while.  The 76 was however, a 4x2 to 4x4 conversion.  Thus, the title was not for a 4x4.  This new one is titled correctly.

you know i wouldn't even lift it i think it sits pretty good as it does and i would put headers on it also. i didn't even know the '76 was a 2wd to 4wd conversion. i myself am a 2wd person but i do like the 4wd's this style especially the step-sides.

Well, it is already lifted 4 inches.  I just found this out.  It will need new springs on the front, but since they are only 50 bucks less than a whole new kit, I will just do that.  I actually found a k-10 short stepper at a salvage yard about a month ago, unfortunately, it has since been crushed.
