My 77 Silverado
« on: June 01, 2008, 12:14:36 AM »
Ok, here we go. These pics aren't the best but I'll start with these. It's a '77 converted to a shortbed with a 350 roller, aluminum head motor and a 350 trans. It still needs a lot of work but I have managed to get it in primer to this point. Need to lower the suspension properly before proceeding any further with the body work and fitment.

It started out as my grandfathers truck who bought it brand new to pull his trailer and boat. I inherited the truck in 1989 and drove it for years before parking it and getting married and having kids. Managed to find some time and money to work on it a little here and there. Not getting in any hurry since my main goal is to do it correctly the first time.

The body is shaved of everything and a rear roll pan has been welded in place. As I said it is currently in primer waiting for more attention from me. Have flopped back and forth as to prostreet it or not but seem to be settling on 20's front and 22's rear. Anyway here are some pics I already had on my computer and I'll try and get more later.

looking good so far. i'm a very big fan of the do it right the first time plan. but mine are sitting. greaaaat. so i'm about to have them towed to a shop here and see what they want to swap everything over.

my grandfather bought his brand new too, but it's got like 45k miles on, and i couldn't bare to touch it. i might repaint it back to some newer color to update the look and cover up a scratch along the bed someone who shouldn't be driving it put there but i can't touch it otherwise. i'd love chip foose to overhaul it lol... but it's sat since i was pretty much born he never wanted to run it too heavy

I can only post four pics at a time. Hope I don't crash anything. I'm aiming for this color and these wheel options.

So far I've been able to do everything myself. I've had some pointers from a local paint/body guy. You can't get in a hurry which has been hard for me. CHawk what size are your wheels?
