I like glasspacks because they're simple, straight through, and not too bulky like a turbo muffler. Of course they only sound great when you do not run catylitic converters.
I guess I'm just way old school...and proud! 8)

For now im running a 3ft pipe behind the cat with a turn down and it sounds better than the dual turbo mufflers i had but still not bassy enough but will do till i pick a muffler.

I bet that sounds pretty mean, screamin86! I drove an 86' F150 once with just cats and a turndown. It sounded tough. Kinda like a mean raw sound.

On a 82 I had a while back, 3 " pipe after the cat all the way back behind the wheel in stock location.  I thought it sounded nice.

Its one of those 3in highflow cats. I removed it once and the sound is pretty much the same with cat and without. With longtubes and pretty much open exhaust it does sound pretty mean. Sounds like my 82 ta with open cutout!

I hate to get in on this because I know we all have different opinions on mufflers and which is the best but I have to say that I like my flowmasters.  I am running longtube headers 2 1/2 pipe and flowmasters dumped in front of the axle. When I am going down the road it is quite and comfortable in the cab but when I stand on it, it sounds great!!!  I am not saying that they are the best muffler but IMO they cant be beat.

I do agree true duals with headers h pipe and some flowmasters sound awsome but they get extremly loud once you start makin alot of power and arent the best for flow but not the worst. Im still undecided on what i wanna go with.

I'm glad everybody has different opinions on stuff because if we all thought one thing was the only way to go, then it would be boring.

Yeah i like the flowmaster sound but dont at the same time and it is kinda boring because everyone has them! I get peiple always asking what exhaust i have on my yukon and i say magnaflow then they say oh why dont you put on a flowmaster instead

Yeah, I really don't mean to knock Flowmasters, but they're kinda played out IMO.

When i got my truck it had true duals with manifolds 2 1/4 pipes to glasspacks and 2 1/2 tailpipes all the way out under the back bumper. It sounded alright and was loud when you got on it but it really needed a better tone. A h or x pipe woulda been nice too!

The X and H-pipes really mellow out the exhaust tone. I welded my own H type thing on a 76' Cougar and it was to lazy sounding IMO.
Anyone every tried those Cherrybomb single chamber mufflers before?

All they are are a knockoff of a flowmaster 10 series thats theyre version of a singlechamber. I ran them on my tas for awhile and a ebay knock off on my 04 dodge dakota with the 4.7v8. Sounded right on my dodge but with longtubes and no merge on my cars it was extreamly loud!
