C10 Dropped and Tires Hit
« on: July 07, 2015, 09:44:46 AM »
My tires hit after I dropped my C10 with some coil springs. Really looks nice and would like to keep it that way if I can. The issues I am having is that the tires rub the wheel well and sounds like its hitting the bump stops also. When the C10 is sitting I can fit my hand between the tire and the wheel well and that is it.  Their seems to be a lot of travel coming from the shocks. Would I need stiffer shocks? If so what brand and part number? Thought about adding a 1inch spacer to the coil spring to help raise it a little. Your thoughts and suggestions would be highly recommended, thanks all to who reply back.

I had the same problem when i put air ride on mine. It was suggested to me to remove the inner wheel wells. I ended up putting in a spacer/bump stop. When my truck is sitting low i have to make wide turns to keep from rubbing. I have seen trucks where the inner wheel well was replaced with chrome trailer fenders mounted higher.

I will post the rim and tire sizes today. I will look into the trailer mod also. Does anybody know how far of a drop we have to drop a stock C10, to where the wheels will barely be inside the fender? Or, just inline with it. I am thinking about using the stock springs and getting spindles.

The front tires are 245/35/20 and the rears are 275/40/20. I am not sure how wide the rims are. I just know that the rears are wider than the front.
