Title: limited slip or positraction rear-end kits
Post by: Chuck Step-a-side on July 06, 2020, 10:52:42 AM
Hi - does anybody have recommendation for those limited slip or positraction kit from Eaton or Lock Right band or others? Looking for a easy kit that don't require special tools to work on my 1984 Silverado 10 bolt rear-end. Thanks, Chuck

I have been thinking hard on this once I get my truck on the road.  I don't know if the offer any other sizes but I have had this in my eBay watching for a while... https://www.ebay.com/itm/HARD-CORE-TORQ-LOCKER-For-Chevy-GM-Full-Float-14-Bolt-USA-MADE-TL-19035/263053426856

That still stands and is still available I just checked the link. However we're looking for something that is compatible with a 10 bolt set up, so not sure if this would work.

I am aware it is for a 14 bolt FF, I was just saying maybe they offer something in your application

A little bit if both for me. More street romping as of right now but after the lift I've been planning in forever (Been procrastinating) then maybe it will be a little more off road.

Whatever you do make sure you get a system that replaces the carrier. Those cast carriers have a lot of stress risers in them from casting ( yes there are some that have lasted but they are called bombs for a reason). If you simply remove the clutch pack and put a new locker or LSD in its place the new weak link will be the carrier itself. Price is higher and you will have to check pinion depth along with back lash but it beats wasting money by braking everything in the diff.
