Crown wheel numbers
« on: September 26, 2010, 06:01:08 PM »
I have these numbers on the crown wheel in my Blazer rear axle

2 gm 26015037 13 40 12 91

I've been told the following refers:

2 gm 26015037 = part number

13 = number of teeth on the pinion

40 = number of teeth on the crown wheel

12 = month of manufacture

91 = year of manufacture.

How right is that info??

Thanks

Not sure on the others, but 40 divided by 13 = 3.07 which is a common half ton gear.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs
