I figured I'd show pinky some love and gave her a heart transplant.

I like how there's no front bumper, it's shaved into the fenders and lower grille area.

I still think that is one sharp looking truck!  Masterful workmanship!  When did you get the original concept and begin the build?

I wonder how the bed would look in rosewood?

I'm sure I'll change the bed floor when I redo this truck but for now I am happy it's back together, burns serious rubber and is fun to drive. I'm back on the orange truck now and intend to get that completed before I am back on the 74. When I bought this truck it was already pink and the story I got was the guy who had it painted pink did missionary work and aids research so he probably wanted to use this to support cancer awareness but unfortunately he passed on. I tried to talk to the people he worked with but they knew little about the truck. I am glad that it has been able to carry the torch for him, we used it for breast cancer awareness and for parades a few times too. I intended to paint it like an ez-cheez orangy-yellow color but other projects prevail and I live with 3 girls so.....pink stays for now :)

Engine specs: 14093638 casting 4 bolt roller block, .030" flat tops, 1258062 Vortec heads, 3 angle seat, back cut valves & guides cut down for .530" lift, cam .495"/.515" lift, PP air gap intake, Edelbrock carb, shorty headers, dual exhaust, flowmasters.

Great looking truck & motor.
It's always interesting to see your projects come together.
You have put together an impressive collection.
My personal favorite is the blue truck with the aluminum slots.
The orange truck is coming along nicely.
The 74, well, that truck is out of my league ( it's probably worth more than my house).
Can't wait to see your plans for the 75 Blazer.
Keep us posted on all of your rides.

Fitz, thank you. I am very much looking forward to building the Blazer but I have to wait until the 74 is completed for sure. I want to enjoy it before I'm dust LOL

I put together a set of Intellitronix gauges for this truck. I have to say the Dakota Digital gauges are easier to install and more plug n play as I like the set I have in my 74 but these work for this truck. Since this was my first time trying these out these are not detailed instructions. I will do another detailed video/instructions in the near future. I will also edit this post a few times to update pics.



The factory cluster needs to be gutted. You need to cut down the 4 holes where the idiot lights are below the surface of the housing to allow for the board to fit correctly. There is less cutting involved in a factory gauge cluster. Retain the printed circuit and remove all bulbs except for the signal bulbs if you want to retain the factory signals as well.



Make a few relief cuts in the housing to clear the solder joints. You will also want to cover these solder joints with electrical tape after the board is secured to prevent them from shorting on the metal bezel.



Run heat shrink over the wires on the boards for protection.



Once you have them in place, test fit them to the bezel. I had to drill an auxiliary hole in the board to properly align the voltage gauge as it sat up too high.



Once the boards are properly secured, run electrical tape over the exposed solder joints to protect them from contacting the metal bezel. Attach the metal bezel and clean the acrylic lenses. I secured them using a hot glue gun.



Run the wires for the VSS, oil pressure and tach. You can use the factory wiring for the temp sender and note you will need a 1/8" pipe Tee to maintain the oil pressure switch for your choke. You may also need a 3/8"-1/8" bushing for the temp sender.



Solder, heat shrink all of your connections. I used 3 connectors to allow the gauge cluster to be removed and installed very easily. I robbed these off of a GM clunker, there are 14 pins altogether.



The fuel sender is not connected in this but everything does work. I mounted the button next to the radio bezel but forgot to snap a pic. Will get one later.

I haven't been year in quite a while but nice to see you still have this. Sharp truck.
85 Chevy Silverado C10 short, wide, yellow, 2wd. Lowered, 60-over 350 with Dart Iron Eagle heads and Comp Cams XE268 cam, TH350 w/ shift kit, 3.40 Gov-lok 12 bolt.
