Depending on the outcome with the vendor, you could always shorten the lines and double flare the ends.  Just don't forget to reinstall the line nuts before broaching.

The truck is coming along nicely.
If they make it right, and send a new one without bending it. I may just wait. I can reach it easy if I get the cab on before then. The bends on the rear one aren't close to what they need to be to hit locations for the clips, I believe it's for a long bed.

To save anyone some time that hasn't come across this, here is a little info. GM has a few different spindles for these trucks. There are different shaft lengths, diameters and rotors. So I know there was different diameters at first. Apparently the ones I'm using go to an 83 truck. I had bought the right bearings for the spindles but the 86 rotors don't work on an 83 spindle. Or I may be backwards but anyways I checked to see if the bearings would fit in the rotors after I drove an hour to get them and the race wouldn't even fit. So if you live in the country take everything with you, lol and check it ALL before you drive back home.

There were only 2 different spindles.  1" rotor (standard on 1981-1987) and 1.25" HD standard on 1973-1980 and optional on 1981-1987.

Thanks captkos.

Had to do some traveling but back at it. Got both sides done. It's nice to see less rusty parts on the new frame. Got to tear apart the other leaf and get it done before the bushings show up. Got the sway bar mounted but need more weight on the frame to get it bolted to the control arms. Thinking about changing the seals out on the steering gear box. Has oil on it and everything else above it is clean on the old frame.

Was enjoying the warm weather, thought I'd go ahead and roll the rear end under the frame and get it ready. Put the ubolts and plate on and apparently these plates are not stock. So now I need to source out some originals. These i don't have extras of.

How did you determine the plate was wrong? Looks like you just need to put the pin in the spring mount, possible the plate is 180 out.

Either way I flop it the ubolts are at an angle when I lower the spring on the line up hole with the axle perch, then slide the bolts in to see how the look. This is the hole on the plate.

Did some horse trading with the axle flip so I need to keep these on the original frame. Plan on using it as a dolly to work on some beds for my other trucks.

This one here. I believe it needs a center hole instead of an offset hole. I promised the shackle flip to someone so I dont want to drill any holes in this one.

Well pulled the trigger. Boxed up all my new brake lines to be sent back. Ordered tube straightener, flaring tool and all new rolls of stainless tubing. Got tired of jacking with vendors.

Where did that plate come from?  Definitely not factory.

Most likely from DJM I'm pretty sure original builder got everything from them .

Are you installing a flip kit?  If so there should be a coresponding axle perch.  DJM typically has speckled grey/Black paint...

No sir im deleting the c-notch in the rear. These come frome djm then. Only thing that didn't have that paint on when I cleaned them was the front leaf mounts. They had a light blue original coat. These axle pads, drop shackles, and shock extensions had that speckled grey black paint before I stripped them.

I think I am confused.  That frame doesn't have a notch in it.  If you are leaving the springs like stock you need the factory top Plat like the rust one above.
