I probably don't live near anyone here in Indiana, but I'm Heather. 26. Met my husband in metal and wood shop when we were 15. 2 BEAUTIFUL baby girls! And I have wanted a 1978 Chevrolet Silverado since I was 9. I don't know what got into my head, but nothing else would do the trick. I shared that with my dad who supported me saving for one, so I started collecting change like crazy (I was 9 and our cash flow was pretty minimal lol.) My uncle, Paul Gene, who passed a couple of years ago loved rebuilding old cars and trucks! He caught wind of what I was doing and bought me a change sorter and roller so taking my money to savings would be easier. I love my dad and my Uncle so much and I'm sad I can't share this with him, but I hope he can see me from where he is. August 6th, my husband surprised me with this beauty and I didn't pick up as much experience as I would have hoped from my dad and my uncle but I still loved working with them so much! I'm hoping for A LOT of help from you guys as I move forward. I look forward to seeing everyone's trucks and progress and I'm beyond excited to be a part of this group! Meet my beauty, Imelda Gene!

Nice suggestion! My name is John, I live in San Diego (don't hate-Procreate!) I'm 58, married, 3 grown children, 5 grandchildren.

I've been wrenching since I was a boy helping my dad on his projects.

Johnny Popper is what my auto shop teacher used to call the single cylinder farm engines with the big cast iron flywheels. I found one in Washington State and restored it, name just stuck.

I have had probably too many chevy's to count, used to flip cars and trucks for spending money. Right now I have 1978 K10 Stepside 350/4BBL/TH350/NP203 Barn find 2 years ago. Just had to clean it up. I bought it to flip...

Found a 1980 C 10 350/4BBL/TH350 Stepside in the mountains near here, will be bringing her home this week to start restoration. She's mechanically sound, just cosmetically ugly.

I'll post pic's as we go along. Cheers!!!

Figure I should reintroduce myself, It's been almost 2 years since I posted. I'm Seth, I live in southern Oregon, just had my first wedding anniversary in September and we are expecting our first child in July. I have an 85 K10 with 350/sm465/np205 and an 04 explorer. Like fishing, hunting and would say that your not camping unless you have hiked in about a mile.

Hey all,

Just got my "first" chevy pickup and I'm excited to get her built. Stole her away for $500 and drove her away! Its been hit or miss since then. So far I've had to replace the starter, some fuel lines and the heater core but now I'm struggling with a vacuum leak of sorts. I won't go into too much detail here but come find me complaining about it on the boards.

As for me I'm an airplane mechanic by trade and vehicle mechanic by hobby. I've dabbled in it all and there's not too much I can't understand with a little explanation. I have some advice to give and a lot I need. See you in the forum!

Howdy all.  David here, 46 years old and looking for my first square body.  My grandfather had a 85(?) Scottsdale when I was growing up, standard cab long bed, 305 with the 700r4.
I'm looking for a Crew Cab, SRW, long bed, 4x4.  Something to take hunting, drive the beach in OBX and still have room for the kids so we don't always have to take the wife's Jeep.
I'm currently in Yorktown, VA but split my time between here and eastern Kansas.

Hi, I'm Mike, I live in Central Oregon with my Wife, a black lab named Dodger, my 97 year old Mom (next door), and my Wife's weird (in a nice way) uncle.  I'm 68 retired from the Marine Corps in 1993, worked for the Forest Service for a couple of years, then the County DA's Office for 10 years, and then had my own Private Investigation and Security Firm for 10 years.  I've been wrenching on cars, motorcycles, and small engines since I was eight.  After Vietnam I obtained my AS in Import Automotive Mechanics, worked for a Datsun Dealership and realized I didn't like the time constraints of working for a boss, so I went back on active duty with the Marine Corps.  My wife and I have a mixed family, she has a daughter and three sons and I have a son and daughter.  We have a 1937 Harley Servicar, 1955 F350, 1964 Falcon Ranchero, 1969 VW Squareback, 1985 Chevy 4x4 Pickup, 2009 Dodge Charger, and a 2019 Subaru Outback.

Howdy Folks, my name is Zack and I live out in Eastern Washington. Never been into trucks, it's always been cars for me and Ford, so what brought be here!? Well see my grandpa passed away and left me his 1973 Cheyenne C20 Camper Special and now that it sits in my driveway, I can't help but find myself getting overly obsessed with everything about it's square body and who can resist a V8! He was the original owner and I intend on bringing her back to life as original as the day it rolled off the Freemont assembly line. Looking forward to meeting you all and seeing what you are all working on!

Hey fellow square body lovers. New to the forum here. Im 41 years living in the south central ky area. Have 4 amazing kids (almost 16 year old twins, 10 year old and 4 year daughters). I currently own a Frankenstein 82 c10. I say that cause the cab is 82 with mid 80s doors, 90 suburban front end, hood i dont know the year. Bed is from a 77 stepside with a narrowed el camino rear bumper and a g20 front van bumper all on a mid 70s frame and next month its getting a cutdown c20 chassis. Truck is eventually gonna be bagged. Have owned several squarebody area trucks. A 86 gmc high sierra, 85 jmc jimmy, 85 c10 and a 75 crewcab.
Just another c10 loving guy

Hey from Colorado!  Have owned many pre-72's, but just scored this cool body-off resto 1974 C10. Super excited to get in on the fun you've all been having with these!  383 Stroker, AT, Vintage Air.  Gotta figure out where all the square-body folks are meeting up here in the Mile High state.  Hope to catch up with some of you out there.  - Thx, Rick

PS: It hasn't yet been back on the road, as I have some kinks to work out first.  Will be looking to the forum for help.
