No problem.  Can't wait to see it finished.  I've been kinda researching just how cheaply I could swap my truck over to TBI.

Is that an Edelbrock intake or a Professional Products? If it's a PP, how do you find the quality?

PP, it's fine. It's not mint but it's a lot cheaper and does the job. Edelbrock lost my respect when they openly admitted to me they are re-badging most of their products.

It's the bypass hose. The Vortec intake retrofit

This intake manifold is primarily intended for use with Vortec heads on pre-Vortec blocks. Standard
engine blocks route thermostat bypass water from the block directly to the water pump through the passenger side water pump mounting flange.  You must route a thermostat bypass hose from the water bypass port on the front of the manifold to the 5/8” hose nipple on the passenger side of the Vortec water pump. Use a 3/8” pipe to 5/8” hose nipple fitting, and a 7” length of 5/8” hose to accomplish this. If your engine block has the thermostat bypass passage, use the 3/8” NPT plug supplied in the kit to plug the bypass port in the front of the intake manifold.

Yeah the prices of the PP air gap are sure tempting vs. the E-brock. Since it's a non-moving item, as long as their isn't visible core shift on the runners lining up with the heads, should be fine. The Chinese are some of the finest reverse-engineers and design copiers out there!

What grille are you referring to?

Murray, you do not want to bypass the thermostat, it's for the bypass side of the thermostat. The thermostat is still in there doing it's job but you still need coolant to circulate through the engine and heater core.

So, if I buy an Edelbrock and it says Made in USA it might not really be made here?  Nice truck by the way.

I'm fairly certain their intake manifolds are still produced in the USA.

Well as you may have noticed by me selling crap in my garage I cleaned up and got everything situated to start back on my 74 which is may main focal point now. The MUTT is 90% wired up for the EFI and I'm hoping to have that running and driving in the next few weeks. I just ordered an extension housing and ouputshaft along with the rest of the parts for the 4L80E for the 75 Blazer(gotta convert it to 4wd) and I just scored a new engine to start building for possibly the pink truck. I'm planning a twin turbo V8 for that  ;). So as if I don't have enough of all that going on I'm dealing with daily life...blah! I just put satellite radio in my jeep. Goin to test it out now. How's your rig coming along? Did you get that other truck?
