P.S.

i have to add that i actually stopped exercising in order to finish the truck.   This further proves how time-consuming fixing a car can be.

ok I think I might stick with my original plan which was to get an early 2000s late 90s truck in good condition save up then sell that truck and get what I want at that point, we will see.

and yeah a truck is pretty important up here you can't go anywhere without a vehicle.

Those trucks won't offer much of any benefit except for all of them being fuel injected. Most of those trucks are beat and falling apart all over the place. Just get what you want. Do it right the first time.

ok just checked back in on this after a week or 2 and realized it's still not resolved as to go for it or not. I had figured that a newer truck with a 5.3 or 6.0 ls would be more reliable than a k5 or k10 with a 305 or 350 but vile Zambonie says otherwise. it seems that with my budget a k5 or k10 could be a money pit, or it could be a good project. so I figured I will make a poll and use that to help decide.

A K5 is good for running around but has no bed.

If you need a bed for hauling anything then the K10 is your better play.

Same principles apply to motor size.

Get your rich uncle to pony up for my rig...I'll even drive it up there with your gas card.  8)
