what are the chances of an 1980 k20 having a gvw of 12000 lbs. NOw this is stated on the sitcker in the glove box. i checked the vin to be sure it matches the cab and the title and which it does. The front springs have 4 leaves i think and the rear have 5-6 leaves for sure. the most i have seen any 3/4 ton truck is 9200 lbs and that was the truck i took the body off of for my mudder which had 9 leaves in the rear and only 2wd
