Steering Columns what fits in our trucks?
« on: January 16, 2016, 02:38:23 PM »
So I want to go to a floor shift instead of a column shifter. I have found it hard to find a manual transmission steering column hard to find and when I do, it's destroyed. Does an 80's car column (3rd gen Camaro) work in place? I'm not going to run cruise control or any of the junk on the turn signal indicator so all I have to do is swap out the old one with a standard one?

What year do you need it from?  73-77 or so but the same to 83 if you use the complete intermediate shaft.  They are hard to find but not impossible.

It's for a 1975 C10. I want it to be factory looking.

I think I would do some bodywork to the column that you have.

You can find them on eBay for around $200 bucks. They even sell chrome ones now. I've never bought one but they seem to be selling a lot of them
