1984 GMC K10 Build
« on: January 07, 2017, 03:09:48 PM »
Ill update this as I can when I am on my computer as I removed most of the truck photos from my phone.

Sadly this is the only complete picture of the truck that I have.

Since this photo it has been tore down and the body work on the fenders completed.

Disclaimer: I am not a mechanic so I cannot get very techincal with certain things. Ive been fortunate enough to be close friends with a couple guys that own their own shop. They help me out with the build and teach me along the way.

Im going to skip the front end tear down and fender work and jump ahead to the cab.

But first, early last summer I shot the frame with rustoleum. It isnt awful

I got the cab tore down today and removed the glass, cutting and welding has started.
Looks like the only unexpected parts to order is the firewall insulation and a spring for the gas pedal.

Wheels clean up nicely. Two and a half more to go.

New doors showed up yesterday and I pick the windshield up tomorrow.

Drivers side is finished with the welding portion.

Stripped the tint from the back glass and cleaned it up. Finally put the sticker from my new bow to use.

Its starting to look like a truck again

We started work on the passenger side and I blasted the door and hood hinges and the brake booster.

inner rocker is in place and outer rocker is mocked up.

Cab is sanded down, only a few small dings to repair and a few holes to weld up. Sadly this cab had spotlights on both A post, a hole for a CB antenna, and two different size cab lights throughout its life. Makes for a lot of work.

Busy day. Wire wheeled the windshield channel and fire wall, smoothed out some of the roof and ground some spot welds. We got the drivers side spot light holes and grab bar holes welded up.

Passenger side patch work should be done this week and we can start bondo on the cab.

Called it quits early after I didnt move my hand fast enough and collided a finger with a flap wheel. Waiting for stitches now lol

Welding is done. All-metal has been applied and sanded. Front end is now back together for the final bondo work. Hopefully itll be in primer next week.

Nothing to report. I sanded on some bondo yesterday. Ordered the rear brake line and inner fenders today. I was going to order a complete bolt kit and the front brake line kit but they were out of stock. Ordered the shocks instead.
