Truck stops and takes 3 times to start every morning, choke is set and adjusted as its supposed to be. Any ideas what could be wrong it is a stock 4 barrel. after the third time starting it keeps running fine on cold fast idle and comes off when you tap the pedal.

Choke flap not adjusted properly and combination of fast idle speed setting.

Very minor adjustments to the choke flap linkage goes a long way.

Slightly to open or closed on initial start along with fast idle speed when engine starts and choke break opens choke.

1/8 to 3/16 flap opening is generally close. Adjust from there.

Engine not running
On a fully cold choke coil while holding the choke break plunger in the retracted position preferably with a vac source should open the choke flap said amount when lightly pushing the flap toward the open direction to remove slack in the linkage.

With help and caution, air cleaner removed have an assistant start
Engine. Move the choke flap slightly in both directions to find which way keeps engine running or increases idle speed. This will show which direction adjustment is required. Again doesn't take much.

Work diligently, once engine runs a few minutes you will have to wait again until the engine is cold soaked again.

Re-adjusted according to your measurements, starts and runs better than it ever has. Thanks. No more stalling.
