P-N-D Indicator blank off plate?
« on: October 21, 2017, 08:29:57 PM »
Hey all,

So I have an '83 K30 manual and the spot on the dash where the range indicator would have been (if it were an automatic) is taped.  Yes taped, the PO put electrical tape over the indicator.

The question:  is there a blank off plate, is it part of the steering column, or should I be looking for a dash panel for a manual to blank this off?

Could I talk someone in to taking a picture of their manual dash in this spot?

Pulled out a instrument cluster fr an OEM granny gear K20 '86.  The clear plastic area where the auto trans indicator normally is located was blacked out. As previous poster noted, most likely tape fr Chevy factory.

Take a black plastic lid off of a coffee can or jar in the kitchen and don't tell your wife. Cut it to the shape and hot glue it to the back of the bezel.

Wow, I wouldn't have believed it...  I thought the PO had done something shady, it just so happened to be the POs POs POs PO.

Thanks for the replies all, school got crazy and I had forgotten I posted the question...
