1984 K10 electrical Woes
« on: June 23, 2023, 09:15:21 PM »
So i got my new K10 and on the way home stopped for gas and it wouldn't start no click on solenoid nothing at all and ended up getting towed home. Went ahead and replaced starter cleaned up some wiring etc. and no crank no start again! after hours of trying to find what was wrong I jumped the starter using a screwdriver and it turned just fine, crawled in and tried the key again for giggles and wouldn't you know it it started right up! any ideas on what it could be?

1)  Check the ignition switch adjustment and function
2a)  Auto trans - check the neutral safety switch operation
2b)  Std trans - check the clutch start interlock switch operation

It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!
