OK thanks.  So I guess the 25g version has the same length and width, it's just a bit shallower.  Perfect.

Why did you chose Thorley's? I got a set of them once and they had to be ground down to install the spark plugs and all of the welds were exposed. I swore I'd never buy them again but this was 6 or so years ago.

Well, I was impressed with what I saw.  Plus others that I trust had their hands on them and were impressed also and they are full length headers.  They are LS conversion headers..  Below are the pics they sent me.  Notice the frame shot...

I think 6 years ago is during the time the owner was divorcing and she got the business or something like that.
I will post pics with them installed when I get them.

Friday April 25th 2008: I got these in Thursday and put them in the truck on Friday.  The passenger side fits great, but the drives side doesn't fit at all.  I am sending them pics to them to see what they can do...

BTW, I am dealer for these now, so if you are looking for a set, let me know...

Vile, found out the history, Doug Thorley Headers is now owned by Summit Industries (not Summit Racing) who also owns Jardine.

Friday May 30th, 2008: Previously talked to Doug Thorley Headers and they gave me the go ahead on modifying the headers to fit.  Went up to start hacking on them and removed to tube that was in the way.  Hopefully I can change them both to fit with a 1" back mounting plate.

Friday, June 6th, 2008: went to Tims shop to test the Thorley headers and see if we could mod them to make then work.  It was a no go.  So we are waiting to see if they can get a set built.

It seems that if the rear y-junction was rotated around clockwise some you could just run the #3 tube outboard (closer to the frame) of the #7 tube rather than over it.  But that would involve extensive reworking to get everything lined back up.  Were these headers specifically designed as conversion headers for 73-87's?

That is what I was going to do, but it won't work.   In those pics I just dropped those in there.  The problem arrises when you install the transmission linkage.  With them sitting in there as high as they are, the linkage cannot be installed.  They were hoping that the headers that these were originally designed for (67-72's) would fit the 73-87's.  When they didn't I told them I would see if I could mod them to fit 67-87's with what you saw, but it doesn't work.  A whole new header needs to be built.

Oh, I see.  Well, when Thorley finally gets it all straigtened out, the 73-87 LS conversion crowd is gonna owe you a debt of gratitude for getting the ball rolling on these headers.  They'll be the only one of their kind.
