head gasket
« on: December 16, 2014, 02:45:29 PM »
Hey guys I'm building a sbc 355 with vortec heads casting 062. Currently my deck height is 0.025 which if I'm correct is stock height for a 350 sbc.  My question is I want my quench to be around 0.040 to 0.044. Does anyone knows who make a head gasket with the compressed thickness of 0.018 that is not the steel shim version.  I believe I would have problem with it sealing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank in advance

My opinion is get your block decked
But you can try a custom cometic they make about any thickness
Ya need but it might be cheaper to have your block decked
