Which Fusible Link?
« on: February 01, 2021, 09:14:15 PM »
Howdy everyone! I have a quick question regarding a fusible link in my 1975 C20 Scottsdale. From the 12v distribution block in the engine compartment, there is a fusible link that goes to the orange wire that feeds the Heater Blower Motor High Speed Relay. The plastic casing of the fusible link is broken and I need to replace it. However I need to know the amperage of fuse to use. 20amp? 30? Smaller, bigger? Could someone please help me!

Is this what you are calling a fusible link? My high speed fan stopped working. The fuse and holder was burnt. Replaced holder and fuse and works fine. I believe it is a 30 amp glass fuse.

On my truck the barrel-shaped fuse holder must have developed some corrosion/resistance, and whenever I put the blower on high it would heat up and start melting the fuse holder.  I decided to purchase a 30 amp blade fuse holder and fuse, and spliced it in as a replacement.
