Interior & Equipment / Steering wheel cover not staying in place

Hi

1984 GMC truck

What piece(s) am I missing to have my steering wheel cover to stay in place?
see pics

The "teeth" don't have anything to grab onto.    truck doesn't sell original steering wheels, so I can't see what I am missing.

Any help is appreciated.

I took these off my 82 and put them on my 85 for a time.  Now they are on my garage wall for my 86 with the steel wheels for winter tires

The top is just a wheel cover (not a hub cap), they were never popular and the other simply a painted wheel.

Tons of factory 73-87 hub caps on eBay and such, but I never see these “wheel covers.” Anyone?

Keep up? Depends where you live and if everyone drives slow  :D Where I live you get tailgated at 95MPH on the highway so school bus trans isn't exactly the best option for that. The 465 is old school and good around town. Not made for today's crazy highway driving.
No kidding! I drive an unmarked cruiser, not that you can’t tell what it is, at 80 people are on my rear end! Unbelievable, some nerve people have. I’m not local or state, so we don’t pull people over, but THEY don’t know that!

Either is fine.  Both should outlive the clutch.  Where you are most likely to encounter problems is if you cut corners at clutch replacement time and continue to use a high mileage bushing/bearing.  From a service standpoint, the pilot bushing/bearing should be renewed every time the clutch is replaced along with a new throwout bearing.
