seat options
« on: January 29, 2015, 12:47:20 AM »
Hey I'm Gabe. I'm new to this forum. I have a 73 gmc crew cab high Sierra I purchased with hopes of doing a duramax swap to.  First question is was the factory electric bench seat a rare option or did it come from a different truck?

Welcome to the site. The seat you describe is from a different vehicle. These trucks never had an electric seat option. Power seats did not come into production on the trucks until the late 80s or early 90s with the change of body style. I have never heard of or ever seen a factory power seat in a squarebody.

Welcome from Northern Illinois. Any pictures of your crew cab. LTZ is correct no electric seats that early. Did you get a donor vehicle for the D-max?

I don't have pictures or a donor yet. Maybe this weekend I can get a couple pics. I'll be sure to get pics of the seat so we can settle this mystery.

Pictures would be cool. But the verdict is out, not the original seat.

No idea. But maybe a Cadillac or Lincoln or something luxury from around the same time.

I don't recognize the chrome around the bottom. Are the seats comfortable?

I was doing some searching on Google but couldn't find anything that matched.  Maybe you should unbolt one seat and look around underneath to see if you can find some sort of label or logo.
