Title: What is this: Under wheel-well plate
Post by: IdahoMan on September 18, 2023, 02:49:45 PM
Hi,

What is this bolted-on plate under the front/right wheel-well? I want to take it off and inspect/repair the rust (You can see there is a rust-hole underneath).

Can it be taken off and put back on easily?
How can that hole be repaired via body shop?

Thank you,
IM

Looks like the support brace these girls came with to knock down the incessant rattle that was otherwise present...especially wind related.

Take the wheel well out and re-install after you repair.

I found mine was spot welded to the wheel well so it's a kind of reinforcement plate.

Does it correspond to where the jack mounts?

Inner fenders are easy to replace and are not that expensive.

Gives you an excuse to clean up the inside of the engine area provided you paint them or they come in the finish you want  ;D

That panel is part of the inner fender.
