WillSquared's 86 C10
« on: April 08, 2015, 06:27:35 PM »
I figured it was about time for me to add my truck to the build section.  It will be very slow going as sadly I'm poor and its my daily driver for now.  I bought the truck about a year ago from an older gentlemen here locally who was the second owner.  Ill list out the specs and couple pics I have of it so far and update soon with others.

1986 Chevrolet C10
Black/Silver two tone, Black interior
128xxx miles
350 V8 (GM Goodwrench crate with under 5k on it, originally a 305)
Turbo 350 tranny
10 bolt rear, 3.08 open

My plans for it are to restore it as I go a little at a time.  I am planning a restomod approach, lower it a bit, cowl hood and such to make it a little sportier looking.

Here is a pic the day I brought it home...

Brightened up the engine bay a bit a few months ago and added some long tube headers with a Flowmaster 50 SUV dual in/out muffler...

And todays latest mod was I changed out the old rusted, diamond tread step bumper for this bad boy...

I have quite a few things waiting here in the house to add in the coming weeks.

Edelbrock Performer Intake w/ Edelbrock 600cfm carb
Dakota Digital VHX gauges
GMTilt rebuilt steering column
New grille/bowtie

Thanks for looking and Ill update with more pics of other stuff Ive done up to now as i take them.

Nice truck.
It looks close to an original.
If it were mine I would work to restore it to as built condition rather than mod it.

Original square body's are becoming hard to find. Modified are a dime a dozen.
Whatever you choose to do you have a great starting point.
Have fun.

So today I added some new wheels and tires.  18x8 MB Old School wheels and 255/55R18 rubber.  Really pleased with the proportions and look.  Next round of mods will be all new bushings/body mounts and new coils and leaf springs with new shocks and a 3/5 djm lowering kit.
