Views: 134 | Comments: 2 Well they've dried up and cracked and are sucking air now. Trucks been sitting for a few months cuz I haven't gotten to it yet. Which do you guys think is easier, Raise the bed enough to access them (bed bolts were removed 18 years ago and tack welded to the bed floor) or drop the tanks (which have never been removed from new)? I think it's gonna be raise the bed. What's the best way to do that? Do I have to remove the step bumper? I last replaced those hoses 18 years ago when the bed was off for painting but we didn't have ethanol gas back then. I have new good hoses for that now, just askin which you think is easier, I think it'll be raising the bed. April 11, 2026, 11:43:16 pm by 78 Chevyrado
Views: 169 | Comments: 4 So both my Chrome Locking strips on both windshield and back glass have yellowed like they all do. The rubber Gasket was installed around 2008 or so. Do you think it would be a problem for me to put a new lock strip in that old of a window gasket? I want them to look new again but I don't want to cause leaks or tears in the old gasket by installing them. If I need to put in a new gasket I'll wait a good while longer to replace them...lol April 10, 2026, 08:01:42 am by Rough75C20
Views: 1073 | Comments: 15 Hello, Simple question just to double check. I want to replace the positive battery cable on my truck. The new cable doesn’t have the splice with the smaller cable that splits off to go to the back of the alternator. Can I just run a separate wire from the positive terminal to the back of the alternator instead of splicing it like the original cable with the red plastic box? Any idea what gauge this smaller wire needs to be? Should I add a fuse? The splice in the red box currently doesn’t have a fuse. The new setup would be just a large positive cable to the starter and a smaller wire going to the alternator directly from the positive terminal. Views: 2690 | Comments: 4 Background: TBI 350 converted back to carb with HEI distributor along with np833 4 speed transmission from behind a 250ci straight six all going into a 62 c10. I'm in need of some assistance in picking the correct parts to mate the two. I have the factory bellhousing with fork but would like to run a hydraulic master/slave setup for packaging. It has been so long, I have forgotten about the multiple balancing and rear main options that the SBC has and have never dealt with a clutch that wasn't just a kit for that specific vehicle. I know some of you die hard manual guys have all this stuff figured out so if you could recommend parts, I would be most grateful. March 21, 2026, 06:49:10 am by MY1978
Views: 14025 | Comments: 3 So, I apparently need high caliber brains to fix this. I went to put the steering wheel back on, after trying to clock it, and I noticed that the steering wheel was on upside down, but because the wheels were turned slightly out. So I started the truck, straightened them all without incident except then the horn would not blow. So I pulled the steering wheel off, removed the locking plate and made sure the cancelling cam was seated correctly. Put everything back together and when I went to hook the battery back up, the horn blew. So AGAIN broke it down to the cancelling cam, AGAIN the horn blew. So I decided to try just putting the cancelling cam and locking plate back in place - and the horn blows. WTH!!! it wasn't doing that when I started it to straighten the wheels. Any thoughts or ideas. Prior to this the horn was fine. I was watching some videos and I will check the horn spring and fuse today. I also have all the parts ready to order in my cart from where I have ordered parts from. 1978 Chevrolet, C10, 350, Pages: [1]
