Getting ready to paint my red girl and the question came to me: have any of you painted the wheel portion to match the body paint?

I've seen different color wheels, black white etc, but not matched to the body color.

In this case the wheels would be red, with chrome center caps and beauty ring.

I just wonder if it would make it look like a chick ride? I'm not a girly man so maybe that's the underlying question.

Also, these wheels (while I like stock) look like every other C/K out there. Maybe a subtle band of red wouldn't be bad....

JP, I powder-coated the Wheel Vintiques on my 98 C2500, which is white, and I did them in a light blue to give the otherwise "vanilla" truck some color.  (I'll post a pic if I can remember)

Yours however, I would leave argent, as the red already provides character.

Just my opinion though.

Ja, Wheel Vintiques 82-series, 16x8's.  All of the stock stuff fits well.  I really wanted slotted mags, but finding them for 8 lug, and not be 16.5 is tough.

I agree, I painted mine Argent Silver with a matt clear coat.

I have factory painted wheels on my ram, the tan is actually a clip in plastic accent.

My uncle has painted turbine wheels on one of his cars.  If done properly, they look good.

A hot rod buddy of mine used to have a purple AMC Javelin with the turbines painted purple as well....they did look good.

Thx for the pics goatman! Those inserts give it a subtle accent. The old wheels look good too!

Purple Javelin would be sweet to see...any pics?

Man JP, if I was only into taking pics back in the day....I had so many Chevelles, El Caminos, Camaros, Novas and one 55 Belair post, and only a couple pics because other people took them.  Add that to all my hot rod friends, and you'd swear we had our own magazine....heck, my lady-friend even had a Pontiac Ventura that we crammed a 400 Ram Air in...
