Title: Help with new (old) '85
Post by: newto73-87chevys on December 01, 2008, 09:22:55 pm
Hi

I just bought an '85 K10 with a newer 350 V-8 installed.  However, the truck has a utility bed on it and I would like to put a fleetside shorty on. Is this possible or economical?  I am extremly new to working on or restoring trucks but will welcome all suggestions and help that I can get.  I know I have a lot to learn but I am ready for the challenge. Thanks in advance for your replies.

  Thanks

I imagine you have a long bed. It could be a shortbed, but most trucks with utility beds a long beds, so in order to put a shortbed on it , you will have to shorten the frame. Vilezambonie did it to his, so it can be done. Longbed fleetside, yes, shortbed fleetside, lots of work. Show us some pics co we can tell what you have. Welcome to the site by the way.
