I was thinking about getting some one piece door panels from Roddoors they are $250. Before I spend that kind of money I was wondering if any of yall have seen them in person and how did they look.
-
I know a few people have used these ones... http://store.73-87chevytrucks.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=7&Product_Code=RD-3060&Category_Code=DP
try searching and see what you find

Thanks for that link those look great too and really the price isnt that bad. Because the stock replacement panels with all the trim is about as high.

I missed these somehow. These are definate must haves on my list
-
Thanks for posting that picture I have seen this blazer on another site. Those door panels are amazing 8) I think I like them better than the ones from roddoors. They are a must have on my list too.
-
Can't tell from that one picture, but if those cover all the way to the bottom, they're goin to jam the door weatherstripping making the door hard to shut....
-
Nice work on those door panels. I love to see what can be done to these trucks.

there should be no clearnace issues.

Even if the panels do go extend that far, they can be easily trimmed or filed to help with any clearance issues.... TV's Panels were covered by him, and he modified them to the way that he wanted, including trimmed to corrected any issues with fitting beforehand....

The ones on TVBlazers truck are the ones on my site, and they ARE RodDoors door panels.
-
I think the ones in TVBlazers looks better than the ones on Roddoors website. I guess it is the way they have them covered, makes them look like different panels.
-
I guess they look different from the ones pictured on the Roddoors.com site cause of the lower different toned part in TV Blazer's pic.
Question: What model door handle did TV Blazer use on that panel. Doesn't look like our stock ones?
Must have on my list too.
-
I belive they are the stock door handles from a 77-80. I think his blazer is a 78. I like these handles better than the 81-87. I wonder if the 77-80 handles can be used in the 81-87?
-
They might, looks good though.
-
Those are his stock door handles on his truck. You can use any handle you want with the custom panels. This is not the case with factory door panels.

Thanks for the quick response I think those will be the handles I use.
-

-
Those look like Billet Specialties, I am sure they will work with your stock panels. You can get them from their web site but I would watch ebay I have bought alot of new Billet Specialties stuff on there cheap.
-
those panels look great are they available for for the rear doors on crew cabs and suburbans???
-

-

What is the grain of the panels like? Is it similar to that of the factory door panels? Thanks
-
Yes it is about the same, but I did cover mine.

Guess I didn't realize you had covered the entire door panel, thought you had dyed it and covered the top piece, I presume leather?
-
Parts of it is leather, but most of it is like leather..

Chris mentioned that you can get his panels, and then have them covered by your local upholstery shop. Can they be run in the truck plain? I was hoping someone had a pic of TVBlazers before they were covered.

Yes you can, here is one..

How does the inner window sill felt match up to these panels. Does it clip onto them like it dos the stock panels?

You will need to cut the clips off and us small screw that will go into the new panel..
-
You CAN run them uncovered, but they were designed to be covered. I personally wouldn't run them uncovered.
-
ok I want the electric window switches version of that door panel. in black and some red naugahyde.. can we get me aimed towards that end?
-
treepete, the door panels are for either setup. You just have to cut the holes you want in them.
-
are they paintable?
-
They can be painted, but as I said, they were designed to be covered.
