Title: intake manifold
Post by: 87GMC2WD on December 16, 2008, 08:59:21 pm
hey guys,
i have a buddy that has 87 350 motor that he wants to put into his older truck and make it carb. i have an edelbrock perfomer intake manifold that says it will fit up to 86 350. Is there i difference in the motor so that it cannot bolt on or is it just a different it emmisions stuff. I know they changed the motors around in 87 but im not sure exactly what they did.
thanks in advance,
Kyle and Ryan

It is the 4 center bolts (2 on each head) that are at a different angle than the older ones. You could slot the intake, but the flat for the head of the bolt to sit on will still not be correct. For the cost of a Performer or equivalent intake for a small block Chevy, you would be best to get the correct one. Lorne
