Title: not enough waterfront property? no problem make an island

I was watching a program on the History Channel about dredgers.  It's one thing to use the sediment received from dredging rivers and harbors to create L.A. Harbor for receiving and shipping international cargo, but, to create man-made islands just for the sake of more waterfront property is another.

How about investing in a development in Dubai, part of the United Emerald Immirates.   Yes, that is where our money spent on oil goes, but, they are turning the gulf into a palm tree shaped island that you can buy real estate on.  Hmmm, buying multi-million dollar mansion on an island that wasn't there 5 yrs ago.   Well, I'm glad that's not a decision I have to make.   check it out...

Battery Park in NYC was created with the removal of material from the Twin Tower site. At first they did it for the closeness of the two sites but then they found they could build on it and sell the places :)
