Here's my '82 Custom Deluxe. Started life as a 250L6 truck, thinkin a straight shift because it has the straight shift brake pedal. I bought it with a 350/350 combo, truck has a 3.73 10 bolt 1 wheel squeal. I plan on doing ALOT to this truck....anyhow, here she is
-
Just another side shot, I know it needs paint BAD!
-
Here's the 350. It right now has a stockish camshaft, 882 heads, cast iron intake, and a Q-jet. I plan on shaving the heads, putting an Edelbrock Performer RPM Q-jet intake, and a Crane 100182 camshaft in it, and a 2500 stall converter in the trans.
-
Interior, nothing special, but it's not in bad shape in my opinion, I do want cloth seats, carpet, a new dashpad, and tinted windows
-
When I got the truck, it had crappy 2" duals ran that looked like a caveman bent the pipes with Mellowtone mufflers. Ditched all that, got 2.5" ran off the headers with an H pipe and Super 40 mufflers turned down at the axle towards the tires. Good sounding truck, wish it was a little louder, but I think shavin the heads and cam will help that.
-
Another shot, I got 3D style Euro Tails on it, and my buddy's 78 Sits behind my truck.
-
Truck cleans up decent!
-
Looks good. You got any videos or sound clips?
-
Looks good 8)
-
Nice looking truck... are those 275/60's?
-
Good looking truck
-
Yeah I got some videos on the cellphone, they'd have to be converted to WMA or MPEG unless you have quicktime. The tires on the back are 285/70s and 255/70s up front. Thanks for the compliments!
-
Nice looking truck.
-
nice truck man
-
that is a nice truck, do yourself a favor and put those 882's next to your door and use them as a door wedge and get some stock vortec heads and be prepared to really burn some rubber ;D
-
Great truck! There's a lot of potential there!

I have a set of 062s just sitting in the building outside, just been debating on using them because of the lift clearance issues. I really don't wanna pour a buttload of money into them.
-
I hear ya. I put some 062's on my 350 and the comp 270h cam which has .470 lift which the stock springs can handle and its like a whole other engine.

The cam I want is a .465 lift with 230 Dur at 50, think thatd be okay with the springs?
-
ya that's fine with the stock springs but dont forget you have to get a vortec specific intake, intake gaskets, and intake bolts which all add up but I kept an eye on craigslist, ebay, etc and got my stuff real cheap.
You have to use the rockers from the vortec heads but the pushrods from your original heads.
-
Yep, i've been lookin at a performer Vortec intake, Felpro 1255 gaskets, and ARP bolts. My 062s came with the rockers mounted on them already!
-
I really dig your truck! I wish mine looked as clean as yours under the hood, same year except mine is a GMC Sierra Classic

Thanks man, that was a buying point when I looked at it, that's how clean it was under the hood the day I bought it. I really need to clean it up again soon! I bit the bullet, took my 062s to machine shop. when I get them back, they will be ready for .510 lift with new springs and the guide bosses drilled, fresh valve job, and milled to around 62cc's. can't wait!
-
I mounted up a 5" tach, post better pics tomorrow!
-
Well, Tomorrow is here, a month later haha! Here's the tach on the dash

Honestly do not know. Suppose to be a 2 inch drop up front and a leaf taken out of the rear. It rides pretty good, but a set of new shocks is in the near future.
