Post by: yellowk20 on December 30, 2008, 10:02:58 pm: My name is Gus Symons and I live in Anchorage Alaska I'm a huge GM fan Especially the 73-91 4x4's ( although The slammed 2-wheels are cool )I'm here to find resto parts and other tips and tricks for making my rigs nice I'm currently building a 76 4x4 crewcab Silverado and a 79 K20 regular cab oh and a 91 V3500

I threw in a pic of my 75 Chevy Stepside that I just finished last year dont have any pics of the V3500 yet I just bought it

Post by: yellowk20 on December 31, 2008, 12:11:00 am: Thanks guys, The K20 is my Favorite its got a Built 406 with Dart heads a 4l80e NP205 Dana 60 front and 14bolt rear with detroit lockers and 5.13 gears. its a Silverado with A/C, Cruise, Tilt ,PW,PL everything still works except the window tracks need replacing so I think I'm gonna go with one piece windows

Post by: yellowk20 on December 31, 2008, 08:45:54 pm: Haha yeah Its got a 377 destroker Eagle rotating assembly with Vortec heads, LT4 hotcam ,RPM airgap intake, JET prepped Q-jet, Full MSD ignition , Bowtie Overdrives 700R4 with 2500 stall lockup converter, NP205 , Dana 44 with detroit locker and alloy shafts, Semi Float 14 bolt rear with a detroit, Both with 4.56's. Its got A/C ,cruise,tilt, keyless entry , power windows with the Switch that use's the stock manual handle,

I built it to drive and it does really good runs down the Highway with ease and gets about 18mpg

yep 400 with a 350 crank and 6" rods

It also has frenched in 78 F150 tailights in the fenders . I'll try to post more pics but its hard the trucks in MN @ my dads house in storage

haha , thanks its a neat truck . silverado, AC, cruise , but no tilt or power windows or locks ? its got a 350 and a TH350 with a NP 203 kinda weird considerig its a 3/4 ton crew cab I would have thought it would have come with a TH400

Post by: choptop on March 05, 2009, 10:44:44 pm: Thanks for the compliment. Its the first 4x4 of this body style I have had, and I have it just about where I want it. I have a lead on 78 3/4 ton for a freebee, it needs some motor work. I have motors all over the place, so thats not an issue. I also have a lead on front and rear axles from a 1 ton, so if it comes together, I will have everything I need. No show truck, no shiny paint, just some 44"swampers and lots of body gaurds. I want a beast. No radio, nothing but the sound of single chamber flowmasters, and a 500+hp bigblock. I also want to build a pro stadium truck one of these days. (Man I dont know where to stop)

Post by: yellowk20 on March 05, 2009, 10:57:26 pm: me neither haha at last count I had nearly 20 "runners" and close to double that in parts rigs and "projects" My truck inm y Avatar pic has 510cid bigblock with AFR aluminum heads I'd estimate it around 600hp it will blaze the 44" swampers into 4th gear

the Brown K30 is getting 44" boggers and already has a built 406cid small block with dart heads both trucks have 5.38 gears and detroit lockers front and rear

The yellow truck is ALL BUISNESS its a custom deluxe and is pretty bare bones it has an oldschool stereo from back when it was my Daily Driver but only because I'm to lazy to pull it out and it still works

the brown K30 is a Silverado and it fully loaded nearly every option for 79 its more for showing off and cruising sonic and going to elephant butte lake the body and interior are mostly stock with just some subtle touches of billet here and there and a Nice Stereo the cruise ,A/C , and power options still work like new all thats really left is do redo the paint and trim and she'll be "Done" well except for the Cummins Diesel that will eventually get swapped in

yeah there 18x10 Mickey Thompson Classic II's the Tires are 37x13.50-18 Pro-Comp Extreme Allterrain I bought those for a different project truck and actually only had them on there because my 35" BFG's were getting bald and my local tire place wouldn't order 16.5 tires these tires and wheels are on my Dodge Ram tow rig now

thanks its a Neat truck Its up here in Alaska with me along with 3 1991 Crew Cabs that I've picked up

I'll be doing a Build up of the gray crew cab in the following months I'll be sure to post links oover here as well
