Title: western chassis kit
Post by: 85 lowrider on January 01, 2009, 08:48:20 pm
Has anyone used the Western Chassis 5-7 kit? The price is cheap at around $500. Just wanted to know if anyone used it and what they thought about it. I will be putting it in a 85 lwb that is bone stock. Want to keep the original look with a slammed stance. Thanx

Don't know anything about the Westeren Chassis kit. I used the DJM kit on my stepside and I like it, didnt have any problems with it. In the past I have used Bell Tech and I couldnt tell any difference with the bell tech and djm. So the western chassis kit proably will not be any different from the rest. Hope this helps some.

Thanks for the help guys. Is there anything I should look out for with a drop this low? I will be using the stock 15" steel wheels, not sure how wide they are. Will there be clearance issue's with the a-arms or the fenders? What about drive line angle? I already have a vibration in the drive line that I was told was just the tranny and they all do that. I don't want to blow the thing up. I would appreciate any other suggestions that you guys have. Thanks again.

I'm no pro with these trucks, but the tranny should not cause a vibration.  Unless the torque converter is going or the fly wheel is bent or loose.  More likely drive angle or u-joint or spiders in the rear diff?
