1991 Suburban 2WD 3/4 Ton fully loaded. It has pretty much every single option the Silverado could have. It is a 350 TBI 4L80E not sure on the rear yet. So I'm thinking of yanking the trans for my 74. Not sure if I should just pop an extra TH400 back into it or gut the sucker. Will post pix soon.

A big sled like that your gonna want OD.
-
I'm probably going to use it as a parts truck but for now I might just swap in the TH400 so I can have the 4L80E and still move around the burban

I see said the blind.... STRIP IT!!
-
Another one bites the dust....If you strip it.
Those 91's are right nice. The last year of our style. My 91 turned 199,000 yesterday. That 350 still doesn't use a drop of oil. The 4l80e seems bulletproof.
If you put the 4l80e in your 74, you gonna use the sub computer?
-
yeah I would use the suburban computer at first until I got a standalone.
-
I'm definitely considering a swap over to a 4L80E in the distant future (where all my other plans reside). The gear-spread, strength, and 25% OD make it a perfect performance trans. As long as you have the torque (which I will eventually) I think longer first gears are better for acceleration.

I say strip it then junk the shell. Even with the price of scrap down to $80 a ton the shell will be worth a few bucks.

WOW! Nice score I see a fortune in good parts just from those pics. The frontend alone is going for a good price these days and the interior looks good. Ok you see what I've been looking for.
