On my wife's Tauras, (yes, a Furd--which is why this is in the Gen'l Disc group) throws off bunches of some type of smoke from the defrost. There is no antifreeze leak, the heater core in and out hoses are hot, the heater really puts out heat, but the dang windows get fogged up and when opening the door, you can see smoke leaving the interior of the car. Turn the defrost/heater off, and no smoke. What's up? anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like the heater core is leaking. Is there any coolant dripping from the evaporator drain? Is there a film on the windshield?

thanks for the reply Vile. No, there is no leak on the floor board. I looked up under the dash to try to figure where the heater core is, but, it has to be on the other side of mounds of plasctic crap. Cars are made so cheaply nowadays. I see that the heater core lines leading from the engine, are in the middle of the firewall, so, i believe the heater core is somewhere in the center of the dash. I dread pulling all that crap out of there on my back.
The radiator and resevoir seem at the right levels. So, I was shying away from a leak. And, together with a dry floor board, but, who knows? It just started last night.
The foggind starts on the door windows first, then migrates over to the windshield and eventually makes it impossible to see. So, yes, the windshield does get filmed over with the smoke/moisture.

Check the evaporator drain. It drains outside the car near the bottom of the firewall. What year taurus and what engine?
