Title: Doors for a 1976
Post by: RonS on January 05, 2009, 02:28:26 pm
I have a 76 3/4 ton that I am working on. I replaced the passenger door with one off of a 1984. There were no problems. Lined up perfect. Plus power window. Now I need one for the drivers side. The driver side on the wreck I pulled the other one off of is trashed. So...  The yard I go to has no more doors with power windows on their trucks. But there are some suburbans. The doors look the same but I don't want to take the chance that they won't fit. So my question. Will they fit?

Thanks
Ron

they most certainly will.

the door panels will have a large window switch opening, though.

Don't forget to get the window harness, it is a separate harness. the suburban harness can be neutered to work with just 2 windows.

Also your 76 door panels won't cover the newer doors inner holes.

Super. Yes I know the door panels from the 76 will not work . But I am building new panels anyway. Now if it would quit snowing I could go get a door.  :(   Oh well they have lots of Suburbans. Thanks for the info.
