That's a rural area, up there off of route 360.  So, I am gonna guess he drove pretty far to get within 1 1/2 miles from school. If that is the case, he did good.  I am surprised he got as far as he did, the report says he ran off the road several times.  Route 360 is full of police in that area, because the road is like an interstate, 4 lanes, but, speed limit is only 55, 60 in some areas....people fly in that area.

And, no, I wasn't the officer who answered that call. It's about an hour north of me.

I would tell you what I'd do if that were my kid.  Anything and everything he received from Christmas would be taken to the back yard.  I'd build a fire.  I would make him sit in a chair and watch me burn it all up.

Then, I'd keep that wrecked van and when he turns 16 and gets a license, the van is his.  That would be the only vehicle he gets from me.

That's crazy! I wouldn't expect that of a 6yr old. 1st grade teacher must be hot LOL. Now my 10yr old may try that stunt. He loves school and has very little experience behind the wheel in the driveway(to him he's a pro now).

The story was in the local news here.  The parents were arrested for child neglect.

Quote
the child, who was not wearing a seat belt, drove 10.4 miles and was within 1.2 miles of the school in Heathsville before wrecking on one of the Northern Neck's main arteries. At the time of the crash, the boy was passing several cars and a tractor-trailer
