Cool. I am diggin' those horns, but they need to be BIGGER. Good job on the intake selection. What cam did you end up with? And when do we get to hear it run?
-
nice are the buckets factory?
-
Alot of potential in that truck. It's not a "POS" in my eyes. BTW good lookin Cutty.
-
Thanks everyone. No factory buckets. I don't have anything for video yet and thanks I love my cutlass. The cam is a Comp. I'd have to dig up the numbers on it.

You don't know them by heart ???

How you like it , I have the same one just waiting for the block to come back

It looks sweet but I haven't ran the new engine. I'll let you know though.
-
A little update. I'm installing the engine starting tomorrow night. I'll be sure to include some pics after I get some batteries for my camera. Video won't be available though. The truck will make it's way to Drag Way 42 this spring in it's current condition. Should big a big surprise to see a crappy truck run a good time. I'm in the market for tires too. ;D
-
Good news, truck has the engine in and it needs to be tuned.
Bad news, no pics yet. :(

And I got me a quick little truck. I haven't updated my last thread because I've been busy but I added some new things...
I got some heavy duty coil spring shocks for the rear, and some more body parts. I'm going to order a new cab kit from the site as well as some traction bars and that nifty digital gauge set when I get some extra money. My cab, fenders, and new hood will be done before the summer is over. The hood is a stock hood with a L88 corvette style hood scoop on it. I thought it was unique so I picked it up. It needs some minor work and will be done soon. My main focus now is the rear end. I'm thinking a detriot locker with a 3.73 gear. I'm unsure of my current gear and I have an open diff. Are there any cons to a locker? Also I want to lose the column shifter and do something like a pistol grip in a console, any ideas? Thanks guys and I will have pics of the new stuff soon, including the engine installed.

is this what you are referring to, since you didn't put what truck and what type engine? ???

Yup. It's a 74 Chevy C10. The engine is a 70 350 bored .20 over with a comp cams cam and an Edelbrock high rise dual plane and a Holley 750.
-
Right on, glad you got an increase in power! What do you think it would run in the 1/4?
-
Thanks for who ever merged the threads. I don't know what it will run in a 1/4 but I'm going to find out on my almost bald snow tires hehe.
-
Another update. I got the truck ready to go for it's first one @ dragway 42 Tuesday. Shocks, wheel bearings and some fresh oil and it's ready to run. I also pitch the hood I bought, it ended up being shot. I recently picked up a Holley 4165. It's a 650CFM double pumper. It's going to replace my 750 as it's a bit too big for my 350. The carb won't be on for the strip but I can always go back. I'm hoping for a 15 second quarter, hopefully less. My goal is 15 though. My tires are dang near shot but I should hook up no problem.

Hit the track last night. Best time was a 15.32 @ 87 with a 0.0974 reaction time. I never went slower than 15.6 :)
-
Nice! Good work.
-
nice dude. how does that cam feel I was lookin into getting that came for my truck for some nice torque. does it have a nice sound too?
-
You can tell it has a cam but it's not too noticeable. Lots of torque and low end power. It will put you in the seat all the way to 5 grand.
