Reading over choptops shoulder and getting told "are you done yet?" Decided to join myself. There are some really nice looking trucks on here and now I want us to do a frame off restoration on one of ours. ;D Kelly kind of likes that idea.

I googled 73-87 forums when they invented google. :)

I was looking through Yahoo images at 81 k20's and a couple of trucks came up with this link under them. I was a member of ChevyTalk a few years ago when I had a 55 and 57 pick-up. I felt it was about time to join another one and glad I did.
-
Yeah Vile you are old school here even to me!! ;D

I know we've been on here a long time!

I have had many of these trucks over the years and figured there were others like me so I just did a search and sure enough this site came up. I think that was around 5 years ago. I can't remember when I actually joined up though.
-

i was looking for Dakota digital gauge found some on summit and didn't like the price so i took the part # to yahoo and searched it and this site came up and it was the cheapest so i figured there could be more to this site than just saving me a 100 bucks.

my buddy craig was restoring his 70 c10 and I told him I lucked into a nice 83 from california, we ended up buying our trucks from the same dude, Herb Ahnert at Reliable Vehicle Transport in North Prairie, WI.
anyway, craig said that this is the best chevy resto site for my year bracket so I came right over and joined.
Now im in the awkward newb stage, where all my questions get answered with "why dont you just look that up?"
so yeah. I like the forum, just new at it, excited about my truck, etc so I sound dumb.

Ah, I remember. I started my '79 Big 10 383 Stroker install project (http://www.delbridge.net/install) back in April '04, I googled for some info I wasn't sure about on the new Qjet I was installing on the aluminum Edelbrock Performer intake. Any way, this site popped up and I asked a question and before I pressed the return button to submit the question, I was already getting replies back.
I wanted to put the 383 stroker in the truck to pull my 30' camper, but, less than 10 days into the project, I found out my wife was pregnant with Andrew (http://www.andrewdelbridge.com). Of course, a standard cab pickup is not exactly a family vehicle with a car seat in it etc...So I ended up getting my 91 GMC V2500 4x4 sub (http://www.delbridge.net/suburban) the next year from Arizona. Now I have two trucks to pull my camper with.

oldwhity, was your username the same on chevytalk. I stopped posting there as much.
I actually found out about it in yahoo groups when Matt Dingman (the one who registered it) decided to create it. I had planned to do it myself, but never got around to it. When he got out, he offered it to me. With feedback from other members I Hopefully have been making positive improvements to it.
Donut, you probably saw it in my sig...
-
Hands down it has done nothing but get better Chris.

I was researching what American Vehicle to buy as I was under the impression info from the UK would be difficult to obtain. My bro suggested a Chevy (GMC!) truck and as I like to be that little bit different and off the norm I plumped for a crewcab lwb. Wacked Chevy Truck into google and after looking at a few results had a nose here and basically never went back ;)
No-one need worry about asking a silly question 'cos I'm bound to ask a sillier one!!!!!
