I called the guy, he said he used it to pull his race car to the track. It has a fresh th400 tranny, new brakes, tires, and the engine was installed in 99. Overall he said it has around 150000 miles on the truck.

He doesn't have to do too much talking to talk me into it.  I want another crew cab dually, and a crew cab extended cab dually will fit that.  We will have to see what we can come up with.  You will probably be seeing better pictures of it by the weekend if everything goes right.

That thing is a limousine!  You could offer rides to the prom for punk high school kids. :D

LOL, thats funny. Its not any longer than a standard crewcab dually, but that extra space would be great for a few subwoofers. I am trying to come up with the funds for it and the trip. (Its about 340 miles away) Hopefully it will come together. I think it would look sweet as a tow rig for one of my other extended cabs. I have seen even fewer of these trucks. (Oh great, now I will be doing more research)

Lol Then Id have to find another one like it to complete the set. I am trying to collect every style of these made in the 3 years they were made. Now I just need a 84 1/2ton 2wd, 84 1/2 ton 4wd, 84 3/4 ton 2wd, 84 3/4 ton 4wd, 85 1/2 ton 2wd, 85 3/4ton 2wd............and the list goes on through 86 ;D ;D. Now I have to see how many of these were made.

I just want one, that is all... So I guess if you run across a 86GMC 1/2T 2wd, that would be considered a double so you can give me the heads up...  I really just need the body for my 85, mine is starting to go, still not real bad but my running gear is absolutely perfect.

I do have a sister, but trust me, nobody deserves to have to put up with her.  She is the "yeller" in the family.

We are supposed to be getting some more pictures of it emailed to us tonight.  If everything goes right, it will be coming home on Friday or Saturday.  I'm sure Kelly will post the pictures if he gets them.

the only two major bad spots

My good friend and neighbor is a fiberglass wizz and used to repair  boats. This shouldnt be a problem
(http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh203/choptop76/86%20Extended%20Crew/86ck30082.jpg)
I can definately handle this. It is normal on these trucks. Overall it looks like it was made by the same people who built the other ones. Has the same interior peices. I think $2100 is cheap. Cant find a regular dually here for that price.

After a little over 700 miles, I got her home. Has new goosenech hitch installed, found out the back seat folds into a bed. Runs like a striped ape. The left rear fender is definately in need of repair/ replacement. The tailgate is toast. Neat thing is it has "The Boss" badges on it that are made of brass. Im very happy.

Ok, thought Id give a little update. The new dually runs and drives like a dream. The old grill and tailgate were in bad shape so I upgraded them. I am going to try to get this ones body in shape pretty quick so I can get it painted. It wont be a perfect show truck, but I want it to be more of a unique hauler.

Grille before:

After:(phantom grille) Kinda hard to see.

Tailgate before:

Tailgate after: (keepsake from original dually)

Will try to get the three together for a family photo, lol. This has rollercoastered to more than what I orignially planned.  Thanks for all the comments everyone. I cant believe this has escaladed to three trucks in less than 1 year. I may have to change my member name, lol. (not really)

I just moved this one out of found on so it would have a new home.  If you rather have them together I can merge them, but you can keep adding to this if you like.  Pretty cool since you got the pics from the craigslist ad...  Just let me know.

I don't think he will, but he can tell you for sure.  It has "The Boss" emblems on the extended cab just under the windows as well.  It also has one on the center console.

Yeah, we're not really sure just yet. The whole truck is going to be black, and the polished brass that the emblems are made of may really stand out on the truck. Will probably mock them up when the time comes and see how it looks. May just put the one on the tailgate, and take them off the sides. I dont know. Opinions are more than welcome on this truck. In fact, opinions are welcome on all of them. I just want something that stands out in a crowd that is not the same as everyone else. I just have to get one of them out there before Hills Hot Rods gets theirs out so I wont be accused of copying them.

Thanks, everyone I have found so far was made in Arlington,Tx so I guess it is a Texas thing. We just are not satisfied with stock trucks. ;D

I am working on that. I have a friend that has one under construction. Its frame is stretched, 3/4 ton axles, and a 8ft dually bed with 39's. He's looking for 44's, but hasnt got them yet. I will try to have pics of it to post tomorrow since I iwll be over there. Dont really like the dually bed on it, but it doesnt look too bad.

Thanks guys. I am getting more and more of them coming out of the wood works, but still not many. I have heard anywhere from 50 per year to 2510 total from 84-87. One of these days i will get the production numbers. So far I have verified 1 extended crewcab and 1 extended cab 1/2 ton that are no longer in existance. I have only found 5 extended crewcabs total, but havent been able to contact the owners, so their current condition is unknown. Keep you eyes peeled and send them my way if you can.

About 7 yrs ago there was '91 extended crew cab up here (ALASKA) that had a custom diamond plate aluminum flat bed set up for a 5th wheel towing rig with a 100 gallon fuel cell located right behind the cab. It was built by western hauler. I've seen it only twice since then But I'm sure it's no longer in the state.
