Dont have the size with me but do woodruff keys come in grades like bolts ?
Our wonderful auto parts stores are telling my wife they dont come in the size I measured.
Thinking of hitting Tractor Supply they have loads of woodruff keys :)

Any farm supply. You might try a Sears Hardware if you have any in your local.

Our Sears hardware is bad most of the time you cant get a light bulb there :) but its good if they have what you want since its tax free :)
So no grades like bolts ? I would hate to blow this motor for a simple woodruff key :)

Are you just looking for the keys for the crank? If so here (http://paceperformance.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=25250) is a link to the ones you want (you'll need two). You could probably find them at any Chevy dealership.

Didnt want to order it I double checked the numbers
its 0.66 long and .015 wide thought the stock chevys were .750 long and .018 wide
My main concern was getting the wrong "grade" and it shearing during break in :)
I am hoping to finish most of it this weekend except the tins and carb

Ok this is what I ordered

Its the right length but too fat to fit in the crank . Tractor Supply doesnt sell em by size the use a number system so I am thinking to file these down. Someone correct if I am wrong but I thought Chevy's only used short or long.
Crank is .16 Key is .18

The keys I linked above are .188" according to my mic. I know because I ordered a set when I ordered my Goodwrench engine, thinking I would need them, but it comes assembled with them. Maybe it is supposed to be a slight interference fit, but .02" or .028" difference seems like too much.

Some 100 grit sandpaper , a dead blow hammer and a brass drift made it fit like a glove
Thanks

Glad to hear you got it in. It's ALWAYS the little things that slow you down. ::)
