Guys,
Just doing a little research.
Have any of you replaced your body bushings and control arm bushings to restore you factory "smooth ride" (The best I can anyway)? When I get a truck that will be one of the first things I want to do, but I will also drop the ride some too. Not by much though, maybe 2" drop in front and 1" drop in the rear. I want the truck to have a slight rake. Is there a kit that would do all of this at the same time?
Thanks,
Shawn

You are going to have to get the bushings and the lowering pieces seperately, but possibly from the same source.

These guys have a lot of kits. You can browse here and learn a lot. My '86's bushings were still in really good shape, so I didn't replace them. My experience with plastic bushings in control arms on various cars, is that they ride a little rougher than the rubber bushings. The older ones squeaked during the winter but the new compounds are a lot better about that.

I was poking fun at Sux (He has the nice looking Yellow shortbed) A while back, he posted about changing cab bushing, then a few days later, about the linkage wouldn't go into "low". After several days & some discussions ( I assumed he got it fixed) it wouldn't hold the truck in "park". After some more ( Again assuming he got it fixed) he came on...still not right. Then a month or Two later, better, but still not right. I'm sure this has been a frustrating experience for him, but he seems to have a pretty thick skin, so I was just working him over a little. I replaced both, when I replaced the body bushing the cab was the only thing on the frame so it made it easy and used floor jacks
Here is my truck with a 2-1 well worn factory coils with 1 coil cut, and the over load was removed
