Title: Band-Aid
Post by: 69byrd on January 24, 2009, 07:44:42 pm
While working in the shop today I cut my finger on a piece of metal, nothing to bad but I could not get it to stop bleeding so I used some electrical tape for a band-aid. I was wondering what some of you guys have used for a band-aid.

We had one guy at the cement plant that put super-glue in every cut he got regardless.  I've used any kind of tape, with a piece of my shirt as gause many times.... ;D

the usual napkins paper towels etc, duct tape, electrical tape, masking tape, superglue, liquid bandage, but most recently my own sock....
the short story- went out on the atv,  rolled down a hill, atv landed on my arm, in between elbow and wrist, had a 3 inch gash, and used the sock to keep it closed and to keep crap out of it for the ride home.

Have used super glue before for smaller clean cuts. Deeper ones I have used Wype All paper towels and masking tape many times. Once the heavy bleeding slows down I replace that with gauze, and medical, or masking tape.

Wipe it off and keep on working, it's just blood...lol

I've used just about every tape there is at some point, t-shirts, napkins whatever is around.

Generally I get a napkin (last time I stabbed myself with a box cutter while trimming the Silverado kicks to fit.
I usually clot pretty fast so in about 3 minutes I stop bleeding.  Of course then I have to pry it open and look at it.. :D

Put some grease on it, Boxers use Vaseline not that much different  ;D
I usually dont cover my cuts unless they need stitches :)

...band-aids? Thats why I own a red truck  ;D

paper towel and duck tape work wonders! Pretty much whatever is laying around if it is bleeding that bad. Most of the time, I just keep going and get some grease in it...
