I have a 1998 vin R 350 engine with a mild cam in my 1980 k10 truck. The engine is fresh less than 30 miles on it. I have been having carb problems the choke not opening >:(. I think I have that cured but I am wanting to make sure on one thing. I changed the oil in it and it had alot of fuel in the oil, would the choke put an excessive amount to the oil(able to tell by looking at the dipstick)? I have a Carter Performance Series carb on it with a Holley Red Series electric pump, Holley web page says no regulator required? Do I need a Reg. or not??? Or was the fuel in oil all from the carb messing up? i really dont want to wash down cylinders or harm the bottom end..

Holley red is pre set at 7lbs, You should be fine there. I'd keep an eye on that choke, and your oil for that matter.

Install a fuel pressure gauge. You can get a tee in gauge right at pep boys if you think it's pressure related. Just look to see if the choke is opening all the way.

I have been driving it for a couple of days now and no problems, choke seems to working ok now. I am thinking about installing a gauge just to be sure.
