I'm all for doing a disc brake swap in the rear of my 14 bolt full floating axle. Problem is in MA I have to have an e-brake no exceptions. If that was not a requirement to pass inspection I would have already done this swap. So I put this question to this forum. Where can I get info on and e-brake solution? Please post links to info or sources. Thanks in advance.

not trying to hijack the thread or anything but what all is involved in doing the rear disc swap? is there a how to any where?

I've done this on my 79 c-30 4x4 it is the 14 bolt rear. I used the Kit from TSM. http://www.tsmmfg.com/2630L.htm I purchased the kit with the e-brake calipers.
For the E cable I ordered it from Rockauto.com. They are the "Professional Grade 59 1/4" Overall Length RAYBESTOS Part #BC93415. I modified them a little but they worked great, I hope they pass VA inspection. They do the job and hold the vehicle at idle in drive. I just have to finish making minor adjustments and and repairs to pass inspection. :)

Gambit - first off that is exacly what I was looking for, second is it $339.95 with the parking brakes or are they an additional amount? Judging by the site they are included I just want to make sure. For $340 I won't hesitate a New York second to get those.

Toolmaster is installing a TSM kit on a Cherokee right now....
The calipers are not included in the price. They are extra.

Installed the TSM on the 86 Cherokee (D44) with parking brake. Bleeding air from the rear was a pain, Only way on this application was to remove the calipers and gravity bleed them. The parking brake cable was too short and had to order new cables from Cali. Hope they show up tomorrow. Skip (TSM) was some what helpfull when I called, but the instructions that came with the kit were useless. Word is the calipers without the parking brake are not as much trouble when bleeding.

I know I could pay a little extra for sticker but those places are getting harder and harder to find. Either you know someone, paid extra or the place was not doing a thorough inspection because it is in the books that an e-brake is required equipment. I have failed because my e-brake didn't hold good enough before.

Do these kits use off the shelf rotors and calipers or do you have to go back to them when they need replaced? I'm guessing maybe the dynatrac kit uses parts from a newer 2500HD?
I see the TSM kit uses oddball eldorado calipers.
I tried to find more info on the dynatrac kit but there is nothing about it on their website. If I knew what calipers, rotors, and backing plates they used I could probably build the rest myself.

90% of all the kits use The Caddy Calipers, which are accessible from any parts store. A few companies make their own though.

I've been thinking about doing the same disc-brake upgrade to my 14-bolt rear. I found this caliper mounting bracket at ruff stuff:

It is just the brackets though. You still need calipers but those take 3/4 T front calipers. No E-brake on it.
